My name is Wendy Rose, and I became a doula to support and improve the end-of-life experience for individuals and their families. Following my training with the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) in 2023, and becoming a hospice volunteer soon after, I launched this private practice to advocate for my clients.

Death has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Some deaths were expected. Many were not. And some were incredibly traumatic. But death was rarely discussed. It was just something that happened, and then you move on. Only now as an adult can I see where deep hurt remains from NOT talking about death, before, during, and after it occurs. My mission is to change that.

I can honestly say I never planned to become an End-of-Life Doula. But I I can now see the through-line of my life and career that prepared me for, and led me to, this calling. I have endured the death of a child, and held the hands of my parents as they unexpectedly passed. And in my prior professional life, I dealt with death and disaster as it impacted others. These experiences are what motivate me and allow me to be fully present for people as a doula.

I am proud to be part of a movement to encourage interest, curiosity, and honest conversations about death, to help ease anxiety about dying, and encourage people to plan for its inevitability. I believe being better prepared for the end (long before it is necessary, if possible) is a form of self love, and an act of kindness toward your loved ones.
